how it works…
your expectations…
We’ll meet in person or have a phone call to discuss expectations and outline the available menu options. The chef will present suitable menu choices and explain any practical constraints. We will also review event details, objectives, and the overall budget. We also will discuss if you have any dietary concerns. At this time, a deposit is encouraged to secure your reservation.
early preparation…
Once we have confirmed the menu, the chef will begin detailed planning and preparations for the upcoming event. He will maintain a running grocery list organized into categories (produce, proteins, pantry, refrigerated) to make shopping more efficient. He will also map out which components to prepare and cook in advance and create a timeline for on-site cooking. In the days leading up to the event, the chef will seek final approval of the menu to ensure everything meets expectations.
the day before…
Menu cannot be changed at this time. The chef will pack and organize all necessary supplies, assemble a comprehensive “event-day kit,” and double-check that everything is labeled and ready to go. He will finalize the menu before shopping as soon as the client confirms the final head count. The chef will also carefully map out and rehearse “the game plan” for the day of the event to ensure smooth timing, coordination, and flawless execution.
on the day of…
The chef will shop for fresh ingredients that same day to guarantee optimal freshness and availability. the chef will arrive at your home a couple of hours in advance to begin prepping ingredients and setting up before cooking starts. the chef will thoroughly clean the kitchen after completing the cooking. At this time, the remaining balance from the customer is expected.
Don’t trust a skinny chef! If you meet James, you know what I meant. Growing up in Hong Kong foods was abundant and was source of inspiration and happiness! Coming to USA at 16 working at his mother’s restaurant was his weekend job! Since then except 16 years of Cooperate job, James has never been far from cooking, either in business or at friends’ parties.

I always enjoy my visit at James’ restaurant whenever I go to Columbia. I can always tell that he cares about his customers and prepares the dishes with full attention to detail. I sure missed going to his restaurant and dishes he made.
